At the heart of the Spicy Network Foundation’s global grocery delivery mission stand two devoted visionaries: W. Lashley (right) and J. Smith (left). United by a shared conviction to live out Jesus’s example of compassion and hospitality, they forged a partnership rooted in faith, innovation, and relentless service.
Under their leadership, the Spicy Network Foundation mobilizes local churches, community organizations, and volunteers around the world to deliver nourishing groceries directly into the hands of those who need them most. Inspired by Christ’s call to “feed the hungry” (Matthew 25:35), Lashley and Smith have built a model that:

Our Approach
We Facilitate Food Logistics for Food-Insecure Communities
At the Spicy Network Foundation, efficient and compassionate delivery of groceries is at the core of our mission to mirror Jesus’s heart for the hungry. Through our “Food Logistics” initiative, we orchestrate every step—from sourcing and warehousing to last-mile delivery—to ensure that no plate goes empty.
Strategic Procurement: We partner with global suppliers, local farms, and food banks to secure nutritious staples in bulk. Volume buying not only stretches donations further but also guarantees consistent access to fresh produce and shelf-stable items.
Centralized Warehousing: Our network of strategically located fulfillment centers enables rapid sorting, packaging, and quality checks. Each center is staffed by trained volunteers who prayerfully prepare orders with dignity and care.
Data-Driven Distribution: Leveraging cloud-based logistics software, we map real-time needs across regions—prioritizing areas most affected by crisis, poverty, or natural disaster. This ensures that resources are allocated swiftly and equitably.
Last-Mile Delivery: Whether through volunteer drivers bringing groceries directly to homebound families or coordinating with local partner organizations, we close the gap between warehouse and doorstep. Our volunteers share more than food—they bring fellowship, prayer, and the love of Christ.

Our journey began with a simple yet profound idea: that food is the key to unlocking human potential. We saw the potential for spices, a commodity often overlooked in the development sector, to be a catalyst for change. Today, the Spicy Network Foundation is a global movement of individuals, organizations, and communities working together to create a world where everyone has access to nutritious food, clean water, and economic opportunities.
We work in partnership with local farmers, community leaders, and social entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions to food insecurity, poverty, and environmental degradation. Our programs focus on three key areas: Sustainable Food Systems, Economic Empowerment, and Community Development.
Through our work, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that inspires individuals, communities, and nations to work together towards a common goal: a world where everyone has the chance to thrive. We believe that by empowering communities and promoting sustainable food systems, we can create a brighter future for all.
One story that embodies our mission is that of Jane, a single mother from rural Kenya who struggled to feed her children. With our support, Jane was able to transform her small plot of land into a thriving garden, using drought-resistant techniques and cultivating valuable spices. She became a community leader, teaching other mothers about sustainable farming practices and helping to establish a local farming cooperative. Today, Jane’s children are healthy and well-fed, and she is proud to be a part of a community that is empowered to feed itself.
